Helping Viktor
January 16th, 2017
Little Viktor came to our facility as a stray,
with a severe injury to his front leg,
which was riddled with infected tissue.
It is unclear what caused the wound,
or how long he had struggled with his slowly deteriorating leg.
His injury was not a recent one, but appears that it had been a wound left untreated
and became badly infected.
Based on the amount of damaged tissue, bone, and muscle,
the vet determined that the only option for Viktor's leg would be immediate amputation.
Viktor's injuries could have been avoided, and his amputation unnecessary,
had he received basic wound care at the time of his injury.
This little boy has a fight ahead of him still,
and can use all the prayers for a speedy, uninhibited recovery that he can get.
Viktor will be available for adoption as soon as he has recovered completely from surgery.
We are not accepting application at this time, and are focusing on his care.
Donations can be made directly to Summerville Animal Hospital to assist with Viktor's care,
or donations can be donated to East Alabama Humane Society via Paypal.
We will continue to update our website and Facebook with his progress.
Thank you all for your support, concern, and donations.

Viktor was picked up from Summerville Animal Hospital early this afternoon, and has been resting.
He is doing well, and has started to try to explore. He is wobbly, but trying hard.
Viktor is a little fighter.

"Hey Everyone! It's Viktor here. It's been 4 whole days since my surgery, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm feeling better each and every day. I can even get around on my own pretty well now. Thank you all for the donations & support of the people taking such great care of me. I've been getting restless lately, and even tried to itch a few of my stitches out. Now I get to wear this funny bandage and have it changed regularly. I am a very good boy while they take care of keeping it clean, and enjoy the attention. I think green looks good on me. What do you think?"
Please consider sharing/donating to help us alleviate the cost of Viktor's veterinary care. We could never turn away such a sweet angel, when he was in such a dire need of care. Donations can be made directly to Summerville Animal Hospital or via our Paypal account.
Every dollar helps. Please help us continue to help Viktor.

We are happy to report that Viktor has been adopted by a wonderful family, and is settling in. He will certainly remain in all of our hearts here at EAHS. We miss him already, but are so happy to know that he is finally where he deserves to be.
It is only through donations and our supporters, that we are able to help dogs like Viktor. We are forever grateful to all that donated to help this little boy overcome his obstacles and find his forever family.
